Abstract:
An alien planetary federation, disapproving of Earth's policy of atom bomb testing, sends one of their number and Gort, a robot intergalactic policeman, to warn against further aggression. This is the most clearly allegorical of fifties science fiction films with Rennie playing the alien Christ figure while Gort is a medieval knight in shining armour.
